Donations and Monk Sponsorship

Since the founding of our monastery in 1409 CE the monks have survived solely upon the generosity of others. This allows them to fulfill their vows and live a simple life dedicated to studying and practicing the Dharma for the benefit of all sentient beings. In Tibet the monastery was well supported due to the deep faith and kindness of the Tibetan people. However, now reestablished in a refugee settlement in India, it is much more difficult to meet the basic needs financial needs to provide for the monks. We now have to rely upon the greater world community to help us keep our 600-year-old tradition and pure Buddhist lineage alive. We are now living in a time in which the Tibetan culture is disappearing quickly and may soon fade from our world. However, due to the perseverance of the Tibetans, the leadership of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, the dedication of the monastics, and the help of the world community, we have been able to keep this critical ancient tradition and teachings alive. Monk Sponsorship

We do have a program in which you can help the monastery by sponsoring a monk. Donations are made in the name of the monk and help the monastery provide for their food and education.  Sponsorship is $20 per month and you can donate in one annual payment ($240) or monthly.
