While up in Placerville we had the opportunity to participate in an interfaith ceremony to pray for peace. The monks joined representatives of Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Native American, and Hindu religions in offering prayers for peace. It was a beautiful day out at Lotus Park on the South Fork of the American River in Coloma. The sun was radiant and everyone brought there message of peace, tolerance, and compassion for others. Representatives of the various religions all offered their prayers (some in beautiful song) and then there was was a Native American drum circle ceremony. There was a lot of love =). At the end all the people carried a leaf to the river, imbuing it with their prayers for peace, and let it gently float down the river carrying their prayer. It was wonderful. Also a side note – My precious daughter, her husband, and her friend since elementary school (Anna) came up for a couple of days an participated in some the events. I wonder if you can pick out my daughter in the pictures. I don’t think it will be difficult =)
